I tried to watch Moulin Rouge on tv and got bored very quickly.

It's nothing but a very long video clip, and I didn't feel anything, except a certain annoyance like the one inspired by advertising videos of Chanel n°5 starring Nicole Kidman or worse, the last H&M one!

The video clip generation must have loved it...but movies-wise it's a heavy piece pretending to be daring and original. It isn't creative it's simply pompier.

I kinda liked Luhrman's Romeo and Juliet though...Oh well.

I've been watching a tv program for about 2 hours about two very important subjects for us, French people, especially if you are a teacher as I am. It's a debate, something we so love here in France, between personalities, either politicians or historians or intellectuals or religious people. And I've been jumping on my chair for an hour! I wanted to slap the journalist who is leading the debate because he was just stupid sometimes and some of the points made were quite simplistic or mixing up everything.

rant you may want to skip if you aren't interested in French debates, of course if you are curious and interested in what *I* think...just click! )

I learnt on television today that there were only 6 "Poilus" left in France and I wondered how many World War I veterans  were still alive in other countries...
