Kindred spirits
Feb. 27th, 2006 11:02 pmI had a nice evening with my colleague H. who is the unexpected Buffy fan whom I mentioned weeks ago. We went to see Syriana, which I'll try to review by the end of the week, and then had a crêpe together while drinking poiré and discussing the film and of course BTVS. He told me he was very surprised I was a Buffy fan and thought he was one of a kind! It's funny because he's older than me (in his fifties), but it feels like I have so many Buffy things to teach him. I feel like an expert because of my 4 years Internet life!
When he told me that he prefered BTVS to Ats, that, besides Giles, Spike was his favourite character (and the best Buffy character )and that Spuffy was torrid (ok he didn't say "Spuffy" and I don't think he would understand the expression but still), I knew we'd be friends for life! LOL
It's probably too soon to come out about Spuffy fanfictions (although I'm sure the Literature teacher in him would be interested)and I don't think I can tell him my interest in...Giles/Ethan relationship, but it was fun to have someone to talk about Buffy.
Over the 4 last years that show led me to new friends, and it still does.
