Joe-Tony Curtis-Junior: Why would a guy marry a guy ?

Daphne-Jack Lemmon: Security.

What was meant to be a joke in a hilarious maracas scene (Lemmon's morceau de bravoure)has become strangely a response full of wisdom nowadays as many rights and privileges are tied to marriage.

But damnit weren't Marilyn's outfits daring in that movie, smutty even! Her dresses made her look almost topless which is funny considering her conversation with Daphne/Lemmon about breasts on the beach!

I love old movies, and Some Like it Hot is a favorite. Haven't seen it in a while though -- that line does jump out at you, doesn't it?

And yes, I remember being scandalized by Marilyn's outfilts when I saw the movie for the first time at age of 11. Scandalized, and traumatized with the belief that I would never be able to fill out a dress in quite the same way (happily, that prediction was not true - but I was a late bloomer).

Not sure how they got past the censors.

You haven't seen:

29.MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON (1939)
30.TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE (1948)
33.HIGH NOON (1952)
40.NORTH BY NORTHWEST (1959)
42.REAR WINDOW (1954)
89.PATTON (1970)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if you don't like American Westerns, High Noon is the one Western to see. If you have a lazy weekend go out and rent one of those, especially North by Northwest (see if you recognize the scene that is supposed to be in Indiana). And see Rear Window and Mr Smith just to watch Jimmy Stewart act again (along with The Philadelphia Story), god, I love that man's work.

There's not many on that list I haven't seen.

'Some like it hot' is one of my favorite movie. The maracas scene was priceless! And the dialogues between T.Curtis and J.Lemmon made me laugh so hard.

How are you doing? I've read your post about your friend and his 'Buffy coming out'.;-) It's nice that you could have a conversation in RL on the merits of this incredible show.
I 'm still emotionally invested in it , and i don't see another series holding the same appeal.
