I love Sci-Fi because it's genre allowing authors to explore almost everything, to revive great Myths, to revisit literary themes or formulae (Dan Simmons' Hyperion for instance plays with several writing styles), to ponder political, religious, scientific, economic or even sexual matters, to match form and content. There's such a  wide range. A good writer will make a rich and deep work, a bad writer will make some mainstream poor stuff.

Speaking of Sci-Fi, I keep wathing my way through Battlestar Galactica season 1. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] sister_luck   when she said the credits spoil the viewers' pleasure. And I understand why she wasn't that impressed, because yes it isn't that refreshing and not everything is good, but it's entertaining, I'm kinda hooked already and there's some good stuff in the series.

I do agree with #6, Helo is handsome. I think he's becoming my favourite character. If I had to 'ship a pairing that would be Helo/Caprica!Boomer.

I liked how the 3 human-like Cylons were watching him from above and then tricked him. Made me think of Greek Gods playing with mortals while getting involved with them and interferring. They were like the true lords of Kobols. The creatures becoming gods. Poetic.

The Caprica scenes were my favourite parts ( I like the humanoid Cylons but also the old-fashioned Cylons) but Tyrol's troubles were interesting too, kinda echoed Baltar's fault. Because as Adama would say, both couldn't get their flies zipped (sic).

So far we saw 3 couples having sex on screen and every time it kinda cause tragedies: Baltar/#6, Kara/Zack, Tyrol/Boomer.

So what? Sex would be sin? Flesh is humans' weakness so Cylons had to become flesh and blood to reach human beings but at the same time they share the same weakness now.

I didn't enjoy much the tribunal thing and Hadrian as a new Inquisitor although Edward James Olmos saying "I'm a soft touch" with that voice of his was priceless.
