On the tv front
I'm still enjoying Rubicon, in spite of certain flaws, because it's beautifully shot and some characters have grown on me (like Miles).
Not Will though, which is an issue since he is the hero of the tale. But Rubicon does have the most interesting gay character I have ever seen on tv, Kale Ingram !
He isn't the token gay so many shows feel necessary to have these days, he is a fascinating character who just happens to live with another (younger)man and who had affairs with other men in the past, but he would have been just as intriguing if he were heterosexual because his sex life has nothing to do with what makes him a compelling character–– that said I like the idea of those special operations being homosexually-oriented (it's a men's world!); even his relationship with Will has something that recalls the ancient Greek pederasty. In short, I could watch Rubicon just for Kale Ingram!
Mad Men continues to be awesome. In that other men's world, this episode was titled " The beautiful girls".

I wasn't a big fan of the running joke that Miss Blankenship was, but it was a proper send-off for the character; her "exit" was quite funny (I loved that it was Pete who had to dispose of the body in the background and Harry's "my mother made that" was hilarious!) and Cooper delivered about her the most lyrical line ever heard on the show: “She was born in 1898 in a barn, she died on the 37th floor of a skyscraper–she’s an astronaut,”.
Peggy was terrific as usual.
Sally does have an Elektra Complex!
Finally, Joan and Roger did it again! Can we dispose of their spouses now?
And Megan was fantastic with Sally! She is the kind of woman that Don's daughter needs...
Am I the only one who doesn't want Don to hook up with Faye?
The first episode of the new season of House left me a bit nauseous despite the good acting. I miss what the show used to be in its three first seasons...
And Fringe is back !

Now that is a series that is improving with the passing of time (let's hope it will end before jumping the proverbial shark!).It was a great episode and I'm intrigued by Olivia's storyline in the alt-verse. I didn't expect her to "become" Alt-Liv but it's really interesting because it deals with the eternal question of what makes us us.
"Olivia" was a good title because of the parallel with the "Peter" episode. I mean, I am not sure what Walternate is trying to accomplish by turning Olivia into Alt-Liv (or should we call her No-Livia now that she is no longer herself?), but in a way he's doing exactly the same thing that Walter did, that is stealing his child (Olivia is like a daughter to Walter)!
It's like a reflection in a mirror, Olivia is becoming Alt-Liv while Alt-Peter became Peter.
But for us, viewers, No-Livia is still Olivia, our Olivia, and Alt-Peter was always Peter because he has been our Peter since day one. If we want the symetry to be perfect Alt-Liv must die.

lijability elsewhere, I don't think that Olivia was faking her "change". In the last shot in Alt-Francis' car she seemed genuine and I bought Alt-Brandon's explanation about adrenaline working as a catalyst.
I expect Alt-Liv to be slowly "contaminated" by our universe too, not because of Fringe science like Olivia, but because of pretending for too long, especially now that there's a romantic relationship going on.
Also, I liked Henry and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him. I guess that his wife and daughter are dead (or at least one of them)?
ETA: I forgot to mention Terriers that is a lot of fun to watch. It has likeable characters and killing lines.

So do I. I still watch, but it's so different now. I haven't seen the first ep of the latest season yet, as I'll watch it when it airs in the UK next week.
Still haven't watched the first episode of Fringe yet, but I'm looking forward to it. This is a show that I think has got better and better with every episode. I'm excited to see what this season will bring.
I stopped watching Mad Men after S1 as my husband didn't like it (and he was off work with ill health at the time), but have started watching again this season (while my husband is at work). It's so good! I've only seen the first three episodes of this season, but I'm loving it so far. Of course, now I'm going to have to go back and watch all of the episodes I've missed!
Sorry to hear you've been feeling so disconnected from LJ lately. I've been going through something similar myself, as RL has kept me from being online as much as I'd like. And the less I post, the harder it is to keep up with everyone! But I'm slowly easing myself back into it again. I hope you decide to stick around, as I for one would miss you if you left! *hugs*
