That 30 days of BtVS meme that I've missed...until now

Day 01 - Favorite Season

Season 4. Because it has the best episodes("Hush", "Restless", "Something Blue", "A new Man") IMO. It was very clever and artistic.

Day 02 - Favorite Episode

"Fool For Love"

Day 03 - Favorite Song Used In An Episode

Well, there's "Behind Blue Eyes" sung by our very own green-eyed Giles!
I also liked "Stupid Thing" in "School Hard", and "Out of this world" in "Dead things" (the crypt door scene!!!).

But you know me...I cannot not choose the song that we heard in season 6, as Xander was so depressed after the wedding fiasco: "Sao Paulo Rain", a beautiful song, written, composed and sung by Tom McRae!!!!

Day 04 - Favorite Female Character

It used to be Willow, but by season 5 it was Buffy.

Day 05 - Least Favorite Female Character

For a long time, I wasn't fond of Anya but she grew on me. I don't like Faith much either on BTVS but i liked her on Ats so I'd say Amy.

Day 06 - Favorite Male Character

Spike, because he's flamboyant with a poet's heart. A true romantic.

Day 07 - Least Favorite Male Character

Parker. Do I need to elaborate?

Day 08 - Favorite Friendship

Spike and Dawn in season 5 and season 6.

Day 09 - Favorite Romance

Buffy/Spike

Day 10 - Least Favorite Season

Season One.

Day 11 - Least Favorite Romance

I didn't like Giles/Jenny much...Willow/Kennedy isn't my cup of tea either.

Day 12 - Least Favorite Episode

"Go Fish" or "Amends".

Day 13 - Favorite Potential Slayer

Vi, because of her hat.

Day 14 - Favorite Female Villain

Miss Edith! She was so naughty...

Day 15 - Favorite Male Villain

The Mayor

Day 16 - Episode You Like That Everyone Else Hates

I like "Beer Bad" and I adore "Restless" which isn't liked by many fans.

Day 17 - Character You Relate To The Most

Giles, I guess.

Day 18 - Character Who Didn’t Get Enough Screen Time

Ethan Rayne !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 19 - Character You Like That Everyone Else Hates

I actually rather like Riley.

Day 20 - Best Spike-centric Episode

"Fool for Love"

Day 21 - Best Willow-centric Episode

Not sure that "Tabula Rasa" qualifies as Willow-centric so "Doppelgängland"

Day 22 - Best Xander-centric Episode

Probably "The Zeppo" but I like "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered"

And why doesn't this meme have a question about Best Giles-centric Episode? I would answer "A New Man" !

Day 23 - Two Characters You Wanted To Get Together That Never Did

Giles and Ethan should have get together AGAIN but never did on screen.

Day 24 - Favorite Example of 90s Special Effects

Buffy's resurrection in "Bargaining".

Day 25 - Favorite Buffyverse Saying

Unmixy.

By the way, concerning Buffy speak: http://www.whedon.info/Slayer-Slang-The-Rosetta-Stone-of.html

Day 26 - Favorite Scooby Moment

"I've got a theory" in OMWF

Day 27 - Cutest Moment

Xander telling Dawn that she is extraordinary.

Day 28 - Character You Love To Hate

Caleb, the perfect villain because he was the anti-Buffy.

Day 29 - Episode You Hate That Everyone Else Loves

"Innocence".

Day 30 - What You Think Made Buffy So Great

It's very well written, most of the time; the characters are touching; the story is compelling and filled with humour...and above all, it was a daring and refreshing tv show.

I may well steal this to procrastinate from work. Lovely list. :)

Least Favorite Male Character

Parker. Do I need to elaborate?

Not at all

Favorite Potential Slayer

Vi, because of her hat.

Nods. Definitely the hat.

Being a hat person, myself, I had to support Vi.

I'm loving it all over again. Recently watched S7 end (several times), and I think I like it more than the first time it ran. Mostly because it seemed like everyone was saying S7 sucked and even then I did not think so. But any way, shiney! Loved the interplay between the main 4 friends in that last episode, from Willow's "Nothing strenuous," to the "Well, mini-golf is always the first thing that comes to mind," of Xander, to Buffy's "I was thinking about shopping as per usual," to Giles' sighful, "The earth is definitely doomed...."

It's good to fall in love all over again, isn't it?

[identity profile] lijability.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed.

Like when she and Spike were verbally sparring after Angel had met Buffy in the pagan tomb (Buffy had Angel breath), Buffy said something to the effect like, 'some day I'm going to put the two of you [Angel & Spike] in a room and let you fight it out' - was a foreshadowing of Spike showing up on the series "Angel." And it finally struck me [perhaps all over again?] that the last spoken word by Buffy in the series was "Spike." In answer to Giles' question as to how Sunnydale cratered into the hellmouth. Other than that she was speechless, not uttering any of her famous quips, perhaps even comtemplative. Maybe her cookie dough was heating up?!

And that smile at the end was as much a part of the character as it was for Sarah Michelle Gellar herself, signifying the end of Buffy.
