Nip/Tuck rocked !
I watched ep 2 of season 3 and it was really good.
Not a Christian-centric episode though...but the many connections and parallels within the episode made my day.
Matt was great (well the actor did a great job)and I agree with him, Sean screwed up. He shouldn't have told his son the truth about Ava in the police office. It was wrong for so many reasons, beginning with the confidentiality he owed his patient.
I couldn't help enjoying the gorilla thing, and Christian being told that all males are bastards even among the apes! And I liked the parallel between the male gorilla attacking the operated female gorilla because he could feel she was different even though her facial scars were invisible thanks to Christian's skills...and Matt attacking the pre-op transexual because "she" had a dick and he coudn't pretend she wasn't different, he couldn't pretend she was like Ava!
And of course there was the Latino guy whose gang tattoos were removed by Sean (while Christian was operating the gorilla) and who eventually got attacked by those he betrayed, beaten up and stabbed...which echoed Adrian's self-stabbing from the end of season 2
So the episode dealt with the male/female dialectics but also with the child/parent one.
Adrian's body that Matt found in Ava's appartment was the cruel evidence of a failure even though Ava wasn't really his mother. Sean was helpless when it came to a metaphorical son, his patient, whom he mistook for Matt in the end because of their similar skin-head, and who ended up so beaten-up. As for Matt whose biological father isn't actually Sean, he's attacked by the angry gang of trannies at the same time as tattoo-guy and ended up on the ground with them peeing on him.
So yeah all the males are basically gorillas. I liked the final reversal about Matt who found himself in a similar situation as the female gorilla, attacked by males who just happened to be dressed and painted like women...
What about "real" women?
Well Liz as usual is an angel of compassion and the chemistry between Christian and her is more and more obvious.
And we got 2 great scenes with Vanessa Redgrave. First the talk with Matt, when "granny" talked him into being himself and accepting sexual experimentation (the bit about anal stimulation was hilarious) before sharing his dope! Then we got a second scene in which Julia found her mother completely stoned in Matt's room and the two of them ended up smocking along and reflecting on how terrible mothers they were.
What a screwed-up family! I tell you Christian is the only "normal" person in that series.

The gang banger broke my heart. Poor guy.
Matt? Needs a swift kick in the ass though.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the third ep...it's a humdinger.
