chani: (sunset in Tanzania)

Un air de Sibérie

It snowed all day long yesterday, which NEVER happens in Paris! Today, no snow but it was colder. Too cold for this mediterranean girl.  That Siberian weather must stop NOW!

ETA1: They forecast  - 8° C for tomorrow morning!

I can feel how the cold affects our bodies, tires them out. I fear for all the homeless tonight. On the other hand I'm quite pleased with the way my classes went today. It was a good day of teaching.

Speaking of the Russians, I've just seen on my flist page that LJ might be killed off soon...and I'm too lazy to back-up my journal. I've been saying for several weeks that the place was becoming colder and now I'm wondering whether I was forseeing its possible imminent death. *brace herself for the loss*

Some of you already have my email. For the others who wouldn't want to see me disappear and would like to keep on virtual conversations, you can get in touch with me through frenchani@gmail.com or through my blog Correspondance. I also post from time to time on a Lost Forum and a BSG forum, especially when the shows are on. BSG starts again on the 16th and Lost on the 21st.

So just in case...DASVIDAGNA !!!!

ETA2: Keep killing children and innocent civilians, Israel, and let the carnage go on and the humanitarian situation  worsen in Gaza, you are making new religious fanatics and Hamas fighter every day. What a  wonderful world. *sigh*

Brrrrrrrrrr - it's -8 here now!!

My feet have been cold all day! :(

I don't think Lj will go - there are so many people who are loosing their jobs (several of our 'big' name shops are closing and dismissing staff!) that this just seems part of a long list.

I agree there is a 'standoff' in Gaza at the moment. I feel like banging their heads together to force both sides to have some sense!!

My feet are so cold too.

You can't expect an organization like the Hamas to have some sense, they feed on despair and passion(hence their success in Gaza wherein people already hadn't much hope left and lived in terrible conditions before the attack), but the Isreali government should be capable of rationality. I just can't believe that anybody still justifies and supports that military operation. It's a carnage!

We've got lots of snow - woke up to 10cm yesterday and last night it was about -9° here in D-village (and even colder in most other places). When I was out around 18.30 today, it was already -7°.

But the sunshine today was glorious!

And I'll better look into how to backup my journal in the next couple of days then.

The backup process seems quite complicated and I still have marking to do.

I hope it's not quite in its death-throes yet - there's still a core staff more than enough to maintain teh site, and they've just had an expensive server move which I think would have been unlikely if they'd planned to shut down.

I'm on IJ and GJ under the same name, though, if anything does happen. I really hope it doesn't - the sense of community here is important to me.

It's been colder in Paris than here, though not by a lot. We have only a faint dusting of snow on the ground, though it's quite enough to make a glassy road surface in the morning. I long for summer!

Looks like we're still there!

I'm on GJ too but I've forgotten my password.

By the way GJ seems down.

It looks dead to me. :-(
