I took many many pictures in Jordan...I just love taking pictures and I had a big mass storage but as I forgot to take my battery charger with me (I know, I know), the digital camera went off in the middle of Petra, just after 140 photos and the Khazneh (the Treasure that they filmed in Indiana Jones)! Fortunately I had another camera, and now I'll have to send the films (there are still 11 of them !) to be developped and you'll have to wait for those pictures.
Here's some of the best ones I took...
That huge flag was weird, because it looked like it was moving in slow-motion. We didn't stay there much but we got to visit the citadel and its archaelogical remains like the roman theatre
and we spent at least 2 hours in the archaelogical museum. Nearby we could see the Temple of Herakles (that had nothing to do with Herakles actually but probably with a goddess)
In the museum among many treasures there were those interesting anthropomorphous statues from 8000-6000 BC
and also some of the Dead Sea Scrolls...

Date: 2005-08-18 04:01 pm (UTC)I checked your post about Berlin and I'd LOVE to go too, but I am not sure of my holiday schedule and I might have RL stuff going on at that time so I can't give you a response now.
And yes I know I'm a freak when it comes to photos!

Date: 2005-08-18 04:38 pm (UTC)It's HUGE and terrific. We stayed there 3 days but you'd need at least one week to visit Petra. I now want to buy a book about the Nabateans!
