I really like Locke
Jul. 16th, 2005 10:02 pmJack and his stubble look, which is the same in the flash-backs btw, are still annoying...and so is the Jack/Kate mating display...*rolls eyes*
I have + and - for good and bad stuff:
+ Claire's background fits in my theory of the lost opportunities. So far all the characters had been facing an alternative and were kinda stuck with the choice they made before getting into the airplane. The island provides the option that was missed, the island resolves a dilemma and gives them a second chance.
- Claire's abduction evokes a bit too much Rosemary's baby...
+ The Ethan thing was well done...I actually didn't see it coming!
+ Mmmm...the Sayid/Sawyer scene was pretty intense. Those two are having a hate/love relationship. Much more interesting than Jack/Kate! Rowrrrrr...
- And Jack changed his testimony because he heard that the woman the patient killed by his father was pregnant? Oh pleaaaaaaaase! This really pissed me off. His father's fault wouldn't have been less reprehensible if she hadn't been pregnant...he still killed a patient because he was drunk for fuck's sake! This is usual pseudo-moral stuff from your typical American shows. *rolls eyes*
+ Sawyer is gorgeous especially when wet!
+ Kate focused on the suitcase but I wonder...Did she actually meet her dead body in the lake?
- On the French-dubbed version Rousseau's papers are in German and Shannon is supposed to speak German not French! And the translation bits are from Charles Trénet's song, La Mer (which was used in X-Files too, as a message to Scully from her dead father)! I guess that it's a clue since they had to add in the line that Rousseau made annotations in German and French, but in the end Shannon says that a German lad used to watch a cartoon with that song which doesn't make any sense at all! Dubbing really sucks. They should have either showed Lost in its original language or turned Rousseau's name into some German name and found another song. Unless that song is important. But in that case I wonder how they're going to work this out...
I wish we had the English version, although I've ben told by someone who saw them thanks to downloading that the French woman barely speaks French or rather speaks a very bad French ( as Giles did in "Restless" except that it did fit the oddity of the dream theme in BTVS, btw in the dubbed version Giles speaks nonsenses, not German!)...so I'd probably be pissed off if I saw it.
More plusses than minusses but I haven't changed my mind about the show...
