Science Fiction
Jan. 13th, 2006 08:21 pmI love Sci-Fi because it's genre allowing authors to explore almost everything, to revive great Myths, to revisit literary themes or formulae (Dan Simmons' Hyperion for instance plays with several writing styles), to ponder political, religious, scientific, economic or even sexual matters, to match form and content. There's such a wide range. A good writer will make a rich and deep work, a bad writer will make some mainstream poor stuff.
Speaking of Sci-Fi, I keep wathing my way through Battlestar Galactica season 1. I agree with sister_luck when she said the credits spoil the viewers' pleasure. And I understand why she wasn't that impressed, because yes it isn't that refreshing and not everything is good, but it's entertaining, I'm kinda hooked already and there's some good stuff in the series.
