Re-watching Passion

There was nothing on telly so...A few thoughts about what is probably the best episode of Buffy season 2:

 

Dru was much more of a bitch with Spike than Buffy has ever been in season 6.

I loved that Jenny paid the orb of Thesulah with her credit card! Devil is in the details but sometimes so is humour...

Xander calling Buffy watcher's  pet made me giggle.

Buffy was very mature for Giles' sake when she forgave Jenny. And in the end saving Giles was her priority. She so loved him and I loved Buffy for loving Giles that way.

I suddenly realized that Buffy couldn't have dressed the same in a French highschool, because that big cross around her neck is WAY outlawed here!

I like how Buffy and Joyce ended "the talk".

Without Dru's vision and her visiting at the Magic Shop, Jenny wouldn't have been killed by Angelus. It's funny to think that she's going to use her thrall and to "impersonate" Jenny in Becoming.

We can also draw a parallel between Spike preventing Dru from helping Angelus against Giles, using a wrestling metaphor, and his actions later in Becoming.

And of course there's Puccini. La Bohème for a bohemian girl...and a tragic ending. For me Giles finding Jenny's body is one of the greatest moments of that show. And the music plus the close-up on his blank face when they are taking the body away...just poignant!

I liked it when Buffy punched out Giles.... and the emotion thereafter.

Damn that episode was just so much of an emotion jerker.
One of my favorites.

I have to agree. "Passion" is horribly sad, but probably one of the best eps ever. I really love the relationship between Giles and Buffy in this season through S5.

But of course Dru was a bigger bitch than Buffy. She's a complete evil insane vampire. And I so loved her watching her crazy shit:P

And even though I liked Jenny, there's an evil side to me that REALLY loved Angelus. DB was better at playing evil. And I'm ashamed to say, but in that moment when he kills Jenny, he is so sexy. He really does it with style. So smooth.

And now that you're probably scared of me, I'll be quiet ;-)

No, no not scared at all.

DB was better at playing evil indeed. I think it's because he was a newbie as an actor then, and his acting skills weren't very...let's say impressive. So he didn't shine at playing the good guy which is IMO much more difficult than playing evil.

Even James' acting was better later. I think that evil Spike was not only fun but also easier to play than multidimensional Spike.

I noticed JM was beautiful and sexy in season 2 and that Spike was a very interesting character bu when I saw James playing William in FFL I knew he was a VERY talented actor!
