About Lost
Jul. 3rd, 2005 10:52 pmHey they are talking about Lost on Tom McRae's forum! LOL
I'm unspoiled but after 6 episodes here's some speculations.
Last week I mentioned The Cube and I can't believe they would follow the same plot but...
There was that comment by Locke about them having died 3 days ago...then yesterday's episodes...The fact Locke can walk now while he was in a wheelchair, the fact he survived the confrontation with the mysterious big thing, the empty coffin....and what the black lady said about her husband that wouldn't be dead but would think that they were dead. It's like they have been throwing hints here and there...
And if the dead weren't those we thought?
I hope I'm wrong though because that twist has always been used in movies (The Cube, The Others).

Date: 2005-07-04 04:40 am (UTC)Dead? Alive? Alternate Reality? Who knows! I like my ***CENSORED*** idea that I wrote about over on Kashy's LJ a while back. But one thing is, I believe, for sure. The key or absolute solution to Lost is the end of the television show. Until then, we're supposed to enjoy the ride. I think.... who knows!

Date: 2005-07-06 03:23 pm (UTC)I thought about Lost again (see!) and I came up with a new theory...well kind of. That would be more refreshing than the dead theory.
We've seen so far in 6 episodes only bits of the characters background. We actually never saw them, any of them, getting into the plane and they all seemed to be in a frustrating situation before the flight. Sun for instance was supposed to leave the airport but she seemingly chose to stay with her husband...Kate couldn't escape, Locke couldn't go to his raid, Jack was trying to take the coffin of his father back home...
Suddenly I thought of one of Borges' short stories, The Garden of Forking Paths.
The "Lost" island seems full of things that don't fit like a polar bear, a paralytic that can walk. Miracle Island, Locke would say...or the island of stuff that was lost at some moment in time.
And as Tom sings in One more Mile, "until the lost becomes the found".
