Just saw the last episode of Carnivale

That wasn't my favourite show, too manichean and less subtle than Ted Browning's Freaks, but the credits were great and picking that period (dust bowl and The Depression) was a good idea and season 2 was pretty good, better than season 1...but now the show is cancelled and I'm mad because I want more!
I'm sad about Jonesy, I did like that character. And I'd like to know what Sofie was going to do. Is Ben the new Management? What about Iris?
But I'll never know and it's annoying really...

Date: 2005-06-19 07:54 pm (UTC)It was my favourite show in the fall. Didn't miss one episode, so I'm hoping I can catch season two next fall (if Flemish tv wants to broadcast it). So can you please hide big Carnivàle spoilers for season two behind a cut for me? I'd be ever so grateful!

I meant to ask yo...Did you make some William icon? Would you make one for me? There's that moment when William is talking to Cecily and nods! I love that nod. james' best performance IMO.
It's still hot today...

Is there a way to edit your comments once you've posted them?

I'm usual not very fond of too obvious dualism, but I thought it worked well in the context of Carnivale. And I felt that while there were clearly two sides I wasn't always sure which was actually the good one. While this became clearer as the seasons progressed, it still didn't bother me.
Freaks is on my must-watch-list (I've only seen excerpts), so I didn't have that experience to compare it to Carnivale.
Apart from the amazing title sequence, I particularly enjoyed the acting and the production value - they managed to get the period right down to the crappy blonde hair colour.

I haven't figured out yet many LJ things actually...
