I'm supposed to get up early tomorrow morning because it's Mother Day and I'm going to my mother's place in the suburb, but I can't sleep.

I needed to escape Marking Hell and was almost tempted to watch France vs Mexico tonight (it was Zidane's last match before the World Cup), but football is really not my cup of tea, so instead I caught up with Veronica Mars season 2 and watched the finale an hour ago.

It wasn't bad, especially the bit about Jackie's kid and above all Clarence offing Aaron FOR Duncan. Didn't see that one coming!

Of course I had guessed that something was really wrong with Cassidy before the Prom thingy (when he didn't want to touch Mac), so when the truth about Woody the coach and his boys came out, I knew Cassidy must have been one of them...I don't think we were supposed to think that Keith was death, because the twist was a blatant lie,  clichesque. Well, I hope we were not...Unfortunately VM doesn't always avoid tv clichés (like when Veronica went to talk to Logan after the pirate prom and of course Kendall happened there...How many times have we seen a similar scene on tv?).

I was sad for Weevil. And I really like Keith !

OK Veronica and Logan were cute together when asleep on the couch.

Is it me or Veronica/Logan tends to be wriiten after Lizzie and Darcy from Pride and Prejudice ?

I wish I had a good mystery/crime novel now to read in bed...but I've read all the books I bought lately. I can't read William Boyd's Brazzaville Beach because I'm saving it for my trip in Tanzania this summer.

Looks like a raid to la FNAC is to be scheduled...pronto!

FNAC.

I like books and CDs and stuff more than electronics.

The ending of VM S2 was interesting. There were things that I was expecting, and other things that I hadn't remotely anticipated.

Hope you have a good day with your mom.

I think the season ended better than it had begun, likewise concerning "Lost" or "BSG".

Went to Kenya and Tanzania earlier this year. Lucky you. Fantastic place. Are you going to Zanzibar as well? Probably heaven on earth.

Yeah going to Zanzibar is part of the plan besides safaris in Parks and trekking the Kilimanjaro...

How long did you stay in Tanzania? Where did you go? Any pointers?

Hi, your holiday sounds great. I went to Kenya, then to Marais Mara in Tanzania. Incredible. Animals everywhere. You get quite blase about lions and giraffes. Highlight was probably watching a whole pride eat their breakfast just after they’d killed and realising as the cubs look at you, drenched with blood from head to tail, that OK, these aren’t pussy cats!
You get up very early and there wasn’t a whole lot to do after dinner, but you are so tired all you want is bed. Take plenty of mosquite repellent and one of those diarrhoea tablets that contain a mild antibiotic as well because upset tummy’s are mainly caused by infection.

Don’t eat any food that’s been left out on a buffet. We ate freshly cooked meat and veg and were fine. Only trouble we found with food was monkeys trying to steal it!

Although all the guidebooks said take Sterling or Dollars, everyone we came across wanted their own money, although obviously big hotels and most safari camps will change anything.

Tanzania is Moslem country, of course. Quite particular about what you wear. Again, on the private beaches you are fine, but don’t walk around the towns except in long skirt or trousers and always cover your shoulders and arms.

Because it is so very hot in Zanzibar, the pace of life is much slower. Things do get done, but we met some Americans there who got very irritated with the slow service and not too many waiters or hotel staff spoke good English.

i envy you so much. I would go back tomorrow if I could.

Sounds great! I so want to see lions. I was lucky enough to see several tigers in India but never when they were eating their breakfast!

Was your safari very expensive? Did you go to a camping or did you sleep in lodges?

We stay in Tanzania 3 weeks and we are going to do Manyara, Serengheti, Ngorogoro, Arusha and Tarengire first. Then Kili and Zanzibar to finish the trip (I want to see the monkeys sanctuary!).

I've heard that the government raised the Parks fees.

There are so many things to plan. So far we only have purchased airline tickets to Dar el Salaam.

I've been trying to go to Tanzania for years (ended up elsewhere every time, Peru, US, Jordan...).I'm so excited!

I've had some sleep issues the past couple nights myself. Planning on hitting the sack early tonight and taking two Tylenol PM to seal the deal.

I hope you're asleep by now, babe.

At least on week ends I can sleep in a bit. I sleep the best in mornings. Must be my inner vampire...

Tylenol doesn't always help. When I have an insomnia phase, hitting me on the head with a big stick might be the only solution !
