No, there's never any guarantee of success or failure. There are certainly no guarantees about love. I think what has to be emphasized, however, is the idea that love (the lasting kind) takes work. It's not easy. Both of my grandparents have been married for more than 50 years now, so I believe that it can happen. It's just not as simple as the first bloom of passion can make it seem.
