I watched 2 episodes of The Shield.
The Shield did blow me away today. First the bet between the Strike team and the Decoy team, then violent the Tavon/Shane-Mara fight followed by the car crash, while they were having fun at the barn and then......what happened to Aceveda. As my colleague said when she gave me the tape yesterday, "that's good stuff!"
I couldn't help watching the second episode after Tavon's accident, but I didn't expect that David would get himself in such trouble, that is he'd be caught by the bad guys because of the money train and forced to give a blow job!
sister_luck now I understand why you said that Aceveda had some dark times ahead....And Dutch smelt something (no bad pun intented). By the way, "nice" parallel between the old ladies who were victims of the cuddler rapist and Aceveda. Rape is rape...
I wonder...are we kind of twisted for liking such dark series?
Rescue Me 1x07 ("Butterfly") was good too. The Venus' Butterfly thing was amusing. I mean all the reactions when Mike The Probie explained the method were hilarious and how Sean got it wrong inverting both holes. Such comic relief is nice.
I wonder how many people tried the Butterfly after having seen that episode! LOL
And the cheery on the top: we got a new excerpt from Tom McRae's second album , it was Karaoke Soul (one of the most rocky songs Tom ever wrote) this time! And it was on sex scenes again.
Damn didn't Janet pull a Buffy on Tommy?
1x08 ("Inches") started darker with Tommy's nightmares before Sean and Mike brought on the matter of size...hence the wager on who had the longest and largest dick. Boys! Meanwhile Tommy found out that his daughter was a lesbian which pointed out that penis doesn't necessarily rule. Lou rescuing Franco from the cock ring trap balanced out Tommy's attempt to deal with his guilt (because of Sheila) and his ghosts.
That series is a perfect combo of lightness and drama. Gravity is always underneath comedy, lurking behind the smile, and death is waiting around the corner...That's life.
