Zoe is her father's daughter, I think they both have that drive to keep moving on. Like sharks looking for that next big thing. I sympathise with her here because Daniel has the power and the way he uses it and she responds to it suggests that this isn't the first time. She knows him. However, if their positions were reversed the way she treats Lacy and Philomen suggests she wouldn't behave so very differently from him. Although she's young enough that I don't think she'd be able to see slavery as a selling point - did I say that boardroom scene really creeped me out? As for the dog, it's a dog not a person. My father was a vet and we grew up with animals. You learn not to be sentimental about them.
