From what I've been able to ascertain from Sy-fy the pilot will be shown in January as the opening episode of the series. No need to rent or buy the DVD or hunt online - if you are a US viewer and have access to Sy-fy, obviously. I think they only released it on DVD to build up interest in US and get foreign markets invested - which appears to be working. Because everyone on my flist who's seen it lovvves it to pieces. And I've got a diverse group - ie. people who don't tend to necessarily like the same things.

I think it was, however, written by Moore, and not the actual show-runner, which is Jane Espenson - so not sure how close the series will be to the pilot.

Haven't seen it myself yet - so don't spoil me. Just saw the trailer - which is amazingly good. Am debating whether to rent from netflix or wait for the pilot to air in January - may still do the latter.
