For a flash I thought Sam Tyler might be Alex' 'keeper of the door', i.e. the person to help her travel between worlds, might even be the person who drugged her.
That's exactly what I thought too. The "devil in the uniform", as I called him, told her that she belonged to the same world as he did, and there was something very Sam-like in the hidden figure standing in the stairs while the man who drugged Alex seemed to be more Gene-like.
Anyway there must be a reason they keep hinting at Sam like that.
