*waves* Here from the voy board, I figured it made more sense to reply here than there.
I enjoyed the finale much more than I thought I would. I still dislike the general mystical direction the show went in and find the thought of them landing in our prehistoric past incredibly hokey, but I found the characters ending satisfing enough that I'm willing to now focus on what I loved about the show and let the rest of it lie.
As for Lee's decision not to build cities and get rid of the fleet, I saw it as a way to have a fresh start, really move on from what used to be the 12 colonies, adapt to that new Earth and settle in– and not screw up archaelogy !, not as a preach against technology.
Agreed. I do think there's a general 'We should be more careful with technology' theme to the show but I think the main aim of abandoning it here was to tie in with the 'real world' and explain the lack of it in the archaelogical record.
I forgot to say that the explanation of the Opera House vision made a lot of sense.
Also agree, I'm happy with how that played out and what ended up being Caprica and Baltar's role in it.
