I'll try and reconstruct as best as I can:

I've seen lots of discussion elsewhere that Esther saving the day didn't fit in with her character and must have been Caroline bleeding through the imprint. I think that we do see quite a bit of Esther that makes the change believable: she's independent and resourceful as she hitch-hikes across country to meet Sparrow (or so she thinks). I can also buy that she sees herself as fulfilling a purpose when she saves everyone: it fits right into her belief system: she was made blind, she got the vision of Sparrow, she met him, she became seeing again all for a reason.

Her choice of words (God says move your ass) might have been Caroline though. We do learn that she has a potty mouth.

As to Boyd saving Echo: I guess it's the first time that he actually does that. In the other episodes she saved herself, but he was there to pick her up right afterwards. There's so much more to him anyway - his ruthlessness sometimes scares me.
