Just saw the episode, thought it was great and very shocking. Have no idea on the timeline, although Kashy has pointed out that the 13th tribe could have left a long time before everyone else in Kobol. Seen a comment somewhere saying that Kobol wouldn't have so many markers as to where the 13th tribe had gone if they had all left at the same time.
But the main point I had was really about Ellen. I was massively shocked by that reveal, but at the same time it seems perfect. And she seems pivotal among the final five in the suggestion she planned/enabled their recreation. Which puts an interesting perspective on her death on New Caprica. They certainly implicated that she was aware Tigh was killing her, but was okay with that - another death of Ellen in which she was calm, perhaps with a wider knowledge of what has/could/will happen.
Just wish I could watch all the rest of the episodes now!
