The boyfriend was spoiled but didn't tell me anything.

Actually, my first theory was that it was the future. It was more of a gut feeling, but Jack's frame of mind was so different to what we'd seen before and that horrible straggly beard seemed to be a clue - he had managed to stay clean-shaven on the island and now that he had been rescued he behaved like he was still on the island beardwise.

I liked what you liked.
Somehow Jack became much more interesting in this episode, more badass which doesn't mean I suddenly like him or the Jate stuff, but he seemed less annoying in his own way.
It was scary how he had turned into his own father (and that comment about his father upstairs was indeed strange - maybe being rescued from the island means that time is reset? That would be weird.)

As to whose funeral it was - I had the feeling it was Sawyer, because that's the one person that is most strongly connected to Kate and Jack. It doesn't make much sense, I know, especially with the teenage son (yes, there was a pregnant girlfriend, but that doesn't seem to fit the timeframe). It's probably someone else.

I also enjoyed the Bond-style absurdity of the Looking Glass station though of course Charlie didn't survive. What do you make of the Alice in Wonderland allusion?

And then Jack as Moses... He had a glimpse of the promised land but in a twist he mistook being rescued and returning home for the real thing.
