In Marking Hell
I keep eating chocolate and cookies, and drinking coke...
But as usual, Chopin helps me to go through the papers. I don't know why but for me it's the best music to mark on. I tried Holst's The Planets earlier but it was less efficient. And when it's Samson François who plays Chopin, Marking Hell tastes a bit like heaven.
He looked like a poet and played piano like a poet, and of course his life ended too soon due to a reckless spendthrift lifestyle and a surfeit of alcohol, tobacco and drugs..
I think I'll go on with The Preludes when the beautiful 4th Ballade is finished.

I also have Inspection hell that I'm in as well (can you be in two Hells??). The Inspectors arrive next week, and every 5 minutes there is another email from someone asking for advice, telling me to read something or produce something. This evening I have to teach until 9.30, then come home to mark 64 papers for one unit, 14 for another, and produce 5 programs of work for the 5 units I teach that fit into the new layout they have decided is the 'house' style....all by tomorrow !!!!!
I don't think I shall be asleep early tonight so I may have to eat chocolate too!! Coke sounds good though....

ETA: Or rather....everything I eat I burn with constant anxiety and bad dreams.
Oh I just spotted a Norvegian film (UNO) that is out tomorrow here and that used Tom McRae's music according to the French! I wonder if other ad in foreign countries mention him...

Strangest land is kind of "retro cool" indeed.
Next year, a friend of mine will move to London for her job so I might come more often, and since I
siredturned her into a Tom fan, we'll definitely go to see him on stage over there.
