When you go to "customise style" (I don't know what it's called in English, it's one of the links at the top when you're on the LJ-homepage) you get all the things to change the layout etc.
Then click on "edit customisations"
Then check if you've got a link in the "presentation"-part that says something like "use community userpics instead of poster's userpics". Set that to "yes". Click "save" and check your flist to see if it worked.
